3 of 2016’s Biggest Fashion Trends

Embellished Bombers- Bombers had infested the market back in the near end of 2015, it had seemed that if you didn’t own a bomber you weren’t considered ‘in.’ As the trend grew mainstream, designers such as Dries Van Noten, Versace and Yves Saint Laurent picked up on it and gave it their own twist with embellished themes carved into the bombers, almost giving them their own story. Although the hype of bombers were short lived, the embellished bomber is a sweet jacket to have in your closet to remember the boom that bombers caused in 2016.

Duffle Coats- This one was a tricky pick, duffle coats were presented to us in 2016, but it took a whole year for it to catch on; regardless duffle coats were introduced to us in the automn collection with Maison Margiela leading the movement.

Neckerchiefs- No better time to be a scout than now! Neckerchiefs replaced big old annoying scarves back in 2016, this move was lively in Paris’s catwalks, but was seen gaining traction throughout Europe. If you’re living in North America it’d be a surprise to see people rocking a neckerchief and that might make you wonder if neckerchiefs are actually hot right now, but remember that fashion is diverse throughout the world and neckerchiefs are bold at the moment.
